A Tampa native, Mr. Gruman completed his undergraduate education at the University of South Florida, obtaining a degree in Business Administration. After one year at Emory Law School in Atlanta, Georgia he transferred to the University of Florida, College of Law in Gainesville, Florida and graduated with honors in 1983 in the top 15% of his class. After graduating, he was an associate attorney for Chamblee and Mile, a prominent labor law firm in Tampa. During this time he gained extensive federal civil trial experience representing plaintiffs in age and sex discrimination cases and related civil matters. In 1986 he opened his current law practice at the Gruman Building in Tampa under the name Perry Gruman, P.A.
He practices in the areas of bankruptcy, real estate, business law, family law, personal injury and general civil matters. He has handled over 3000 bankruptcy cases in Tampa, which include chapter 7 (liquidation), Chapter 13 (payment plan) and Chapter 11 (business reorganization). In 1997, with his brother Eric Gruman, also an attorney, Perry Gruman opened a title company, Peer Title Inc., providing complete real estate title and closing services for residential and commercial property.
Perry Gruman is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the ATIF and the merchant association. Mr. Gruman is married with two children, ages 9 and 12, and resides in Tampa.
